We believe one of the greatest privileges any person can enjoy is the responsibility to raise children. A key factor in raising our children is helping them to know who God is, what he has done and why that matters. In Deuteronomy 6 parents are commanded by God to teach their children the ways of the Lord.
One of the ways we help facilitate that is through the children’s ministry at SGCM. Whilst the adults are receiving instruction in the Bible the children have some age appropriate activity and teaching, also based on God’s word, which they are encouraged to discuss with their parents at home.
We do not want to replace or undermine the responsibility that parents have but want to serve parents and the children by complementing all that is being taught and said at home.
The children are usually taught by parents and other adults in the church who make sure the kids have a fun time while learning the story of redemption as found in the Bible. All this to the end that they may come to know God, worship him and understand what it means to live lives glorifying to God.
