This past Sunday we enjoyed a wonderful 'Family Day' at our church. We had the joy of praying for two families (the Hadleys and the Lloyds) and their new babies (Seion and Caleb); we thrilled to hear Steve & Val Lloyd renew their wedding vows after 40 years of marriage and we had the joy of seeing six of our Teens be baptised as an expression of their love for and commitment to follow the Lord.

I was struck once again with the kindness and mercy of God in giving us the gospel to apply in our parenting, our marriages and in how we live our lives. It is a wonderful and fearful thing to see lives dramatically changed by the 'good news'. To see a marriage so different because of a couple's commitment to each other that flows from a devotion to God. To see young lives changed and youngsters choosing to follow Jesus rather than be influenced by world, friends, TV etc. To see families dedicate themselves to raise their children to serve God. How thrilling is that?

We had the privilege of seeing over 200 people in the meeting - thanks to all of you who came or invited guests. We trust they all had a small glimpse into our local church family and saw some of the reasons why we love God - He is the One who gives us confidence for our marriages, families and for our daily lives.

How grateful I am for the gospel .. What a wonderful Saviour we have!
